Reading Hour Activity on the Occasion of Reading Inspiration Day.
The Library Department of Oriental College of Pharmacy organized a Reading Hour Activity on 15th October 2025 to celebrate Reading Inspiration Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The event aimed to promote reading habits among students and faculty members, honor Dr. Kalam’s passion for knowledge and education, and foster a reading-friendly environment within the college.
The activity was conducted in the Library and Reading Hall and was held indoors. It was scheduled batch-wise to ensure maximum participation.
The event began with a brief tribute to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, highlighting his contribution to science, education, and the promotion of lifelong learning. Following the tribute, students and faculty members engaged in a dedicated reading session, selecting books of their interest from the library’s diverse collection. Faculty members also joined during their convenient time slots, encouraging students to explore different genres and academic materials.
